Rails - Feb 2006 - help! file_column permission

i have a problem that''s driving me crazy.

file_column is uploading some files with the wrong permissions of 600, i 
need it to set 644.

i''ve read everything i can but i can''t actually find a
solution that
works.

any ideas?
