Many of you were unable to reach http://raildock.mytechsupport.com earlier. Enough time has elapsed now, however, so that you should be able to check it out. Since my first announcement, I''ve integrated Peter Cooper''s Snippets code in to RailDock so that it can become a PHP-style resource for developers where comments, instructions and examples can be appended to each class or method. A big thanks to Peter, Zed Shaw (RubyOdeum) and the original rdoc guys for making this site possible to build in just two days! Regards, Duane Johnson (canadaduane) P.S. I will address some of Johan''s suggestions in the next release. This will certainly become an open source project; however, I want to get it to a certain point of stability first.
Looks like is not there yet. *Site:* *raildock.mytechsupport.com <http://raildock.mytechsupport.com>**not found. * Adrian On 7/10/05, Duane Johnson <duane.johnson-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote:> > Many of you were unable to reach http://raildock.mytechsupport.com > earlier. Duane, Just to let you know.... I can see it fine. Looks like it will be a great resource. Excellent work Duane, that''s certainly made it into my set of rails bookmarks. I''d second Johan''s comment of being able to browse as well, and I''d also say that while the fixed width layout looks very pretty, for browsing documentation I''d probably rather take advantage of a bit more of my screen real-estate. cheers, Craig -- Craig Ambrose Web Elements http://www.portallus.com/people/craigambrose/

I''ll make an alternate layout for frequently flyers :) Perhaps I would do well to make the alternate layout become the default for anything after the first page... hmmm. Thanks for the feedback. I can''t see the site, actually. Getting the same error Adrian described earlier.> > Many of you were unable to reach http://raildock.mytechsupport.com > > earlier. It''s finally there for me! Probably DNS propagation issues. Good work! It turns out we (MyTechSupport) recently added a *THIRD* DNS server that I didn''t know about, so about 1/3 of you were getting the wrong IP address. Setting changed. Propagation yet to occur. :) Thanks again, Duane Johnson (canadaduane) P.S. A coworker (Ben Robison) linked me to http://www.squish.net/ dnscheck/ which helped to resolve this. Thought others might find that useful as well.
The DNS is resolving correctly for me now...looks good! My first ideas: - It would be cool if there were a record (on the front page or linked from it) that would show you the latest comments/snippets posted. - "Rank" pages by frequency of use or user-submitted voting (probably not as accurate/useful) - Mailing list archive? This might be available somewhere else, don''t know. Just some monday morning fodder... -Jeff
