Good OOP and JS books / tutorials? Looking to teach my team
Can anyone recommend good books, online tutorials, or any other learning materials for Javascript - specifically Object Oriented Programming using JS? I want the rest of my dev team to be able to help me code in JS, specifically using prototype and scriptaculous. I''ve been using JS for so long, and I kinda "grew up" on OOP programming but my whole team is Coldfusion programmers, so object oriented design is not native to them. I can show them plenty of examples and go through developing a JS-heavy application with them, but I''m still not much of a teacher (I''m impatient :) so I''d like to have alternate materials for them. Thanks in advance! John, I would recommend you check out the stuff over at sitepoint.com. Their books are typically very good quality, although I am not familiar with a specific title in that area. www.sitepoint.com - Alister _____ From: rails-spinoffs-bounces-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org [mailto:rails-spinoffs-bounces-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org] On Behalf Of Joseph Potenza Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 9:39 AM To: rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org Subject: [Rails-spinoffs] Good OOP and JS books / tutorials? Ajax in Action has a pretty good description of it or "Pragmatic Ajax" On Jan 11, 2006, at 8:37 PM, Alister Cameron wrote:> John, > > I would recommend you check out the stuff over at sitepoint.com. > Their books are typically very good quality, although I am not > familiar with a specific title in that area. > > www.sitepoint.com > > - Alister > > From: rails-spinoffs-bounces-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org [mailto:rails- > spinoffs-bounces-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org] On Behalf Of Joseph Potenza > Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 9:39 AM > To: rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org > Subject: [Rails-spinoffs] Good OOP and JS books / tutorials? > Looking toteach my team > > Can anyone recommend good books, online tutorials, or any other > learning materials for Javascript - specifically Object Oriented > Programming using JS? > > I want the rest of my dev team to be able to help me code in JS, > specifically using prototype and scriptaculous.
