Rails spinoffs - Dec 2005 - Crashing Firefox when updating the same div

I''ve managed to consistently crash firefox 1.5 (mac) using  
script.aculo.us.  Is this a known issue?  The page in question works  
in Safari enough.

It happens on a link_to_remote where I''m :updating the same div that  
I''m currently in.

Would it help if I try to isolate the code?  Would it be more a  
firefox bug, or a JS bug?  i.e. do we think we can fix the library,  
or do I have to go around it until firefox gets fixed?

Yep, it''s a known issue - has to do with evaluating javascripts in  
the fetched fragment (it won''t crash if you set evalScripts: false)

apparently fixed on the mozilla trunk but you should patch your  
prototype.js

Hello,

I''m in the process of making a Prototype/Scriptaculous module for  
Drupal. It''s going quite well and I hope to release it within the  
next month.

One of the tricks that I''m working on is the ability to drag the  
admin menu (div) anywhere on the page and have Drupal "remember"  
where it is. In this way it act as a toolbar (think PhotoShop) out of  
the flow of the page. However, in order to have its position  
"remembered" by the server, I need to send an ajax request containing
the position of the div AT THE END of the drag. Is there a way to do  
this? I see a "change" callback, but not anything for onDragEnd or  
anything like that. Should I be doing something like making the  
entire body a drop target?

I''m stumped.
