yum update / kernal update failed - remove or repair
I have a VPS running C7. I ran a 'yum update' which included a kernel update. The yum update wasn't a total success because mariadb updates failed. However everything else appeared to work.
However, when I rebooted the server it did not restart. I have managed to get the ISP's support desk to boot the server by selecting the previous kernel, and I now have access to my box again.

Camera doesn't works after "yum upgrade"
Hi,
I've launched a "yum upgrade" command on a CentOS6 laptop which has updated
nearly 600 packages. Automatic updates were not working because of a conflict on
a package.
So the laptop is now uptodate but the camera did not works after this. The
message is:
kernel: uvcvideo: Failed to query (GET_DEF) UVC control 6 on unit 2: -110 (exp. 2).
The camera is detected as USB,

CentOS-announce Digest, Vol 4, Issue 5
...3.5 for i386 has now been released and is available on all
mirrors and via bitorrent.
A late omission in the isos meant respinning and that caused some delay.
Please download and test, or set your yum.conf to point to 3.5 rather
than $releasever (eg http://mirror.centos.org/centos/3.5/..) to test
updating and add any problems to bugs.centos.org
3.4 will be removed from the mirrors and 3.5 will become the default in
48 hours if no problems are reported.

corrupt rpm problem
Here is the output from yum -y upgrade without the error parts...
Its odd because it updated all of these first time round. I have dared
reboot the box yet, for fear it won't come back up...
