Just to save some people some time, I will add that the ROpenOffice package
depends on the RCompression package and will not install on R3.0.0 beta until
you also reinstall that package.

I needed to download each to my User directory and then run:

install.packages("~/Rcompression_0.93-2.tar.gz", repos=NULL,
type="source")
install.packages("~/ROpenOffice_0.4-0.tar.gz", repos=NULL,
type="source")
