Hi! I wish to know if there is any R forum which is meant only for Statistics? I mean where we can clarify our statistics doubts and seek knowledge. I know there are lot many books and internet sites, but 'R forum' has altogether different standard and very high level and one can learn a lot from them. Vincy, In addition to the R-help mailing list, other forums for R and statistics that I go to include: Stackoverflow's R tagged questions http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/r StackExchange's Stats site: http://stats.stackexchange.com/ A Google search for R statistics forum shows a few other forums that I'm not familiar with. It also shows a previous post to this list on a similar topic: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Statistics-forums-td873818.html , where, at least in 2008, David Winsemius recommended the three sci.stat.* on USENET, which are now also on Google Groups ( https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forumsearch/sci.stat.*). Perhaps others have a better feel for which forums are of higher quality. The sci.stat.* groups look a bit overrun with spam these days. [R] R forum for only Statistics
Might I suggest you read the upstream postings in this thread you seem to have brought back from beyond the grave and check those resources for methodological questions (particularly CV). Once you decide what you want to do, get in touch with SPSS support and ask them how to do it. When that avenue proves fruitless, see the light, adopt R, and come back here and all shall be revealed. As it stands now, your post not only fails to have R material in it, but specifically asks to avoid the use of R: a strange request on the R help list. In addition to getting help from others, I always find that seeking answers through reading to be helpful. I would suggest a basic stats book and this paper regarding issues indices like species richness: http://www.amazon.com/Primer-Ecological-Statistics-Nicholas-Gotelli/dp/0878932690 Here is one you should probably read as well: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.1461-0248.2001.00230.x/full Happy reading. geeknick wrote:> > Hi there I need some > http://calculate-conditional-and-distributio.blogspot.com/2011/11/blog-post.html > Statistics Help !!!!!!!!!!
