how to plot y-axis on the right of x-axis
Dear List,
I have a richness data distributing across 20 N to 20 S latitude. (120 E-140
E longitude).
I would like to draw the richness in the north hemisphere and a regression
line in the plot
(x-axis: latitude, y-axis: richness in the north hemisphere).
The above demand is done using plot.
Then, south hemisphere richness...

[LLVMdev] Odd problem with command line options
I'm linking a program (my ellsif driver) that basically brings in most
of the LLVM stuff: bitcode reading, optimizations, linking, and target
code generation.
All of a sudden, I'm getting the following when I run:
[~/elsa/ellsif] dev% ./ellsif -v test/ofmt.i test/sieve.i -time-actions -O5

inconsistent lm results with fixed response variable
Hi,
I'm analyzing a large number of simulations using lm(), a sample of the
resulting data is pasted below. In some simulations, the response
variable doesn't vary, ie:
> tmp[[2]]$richness
[1] 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40
When I analyze this using R version 2.8.0 (2008-10-20) on a linux
cluster, I get an appropriate result:
## begin R ##
summary(lm(richness ~ het, data = tmp[[2]]))
Call:
lm(formula = richness ~ het, data = tmp[[2]])...

I am trying to fit a logarithmic trendline to a scatterplot of a
species accumulation curve. I've tried abline, lines, curve and
scatter.smooth but none of these work.
Can anyone help please,

creating a matrix subset based on a threshold cutoff
Hi,
I have a table of x rows and y columns. The table is huge and so i'd like
to create a subset of the data containing rows where any of the y values are
below a threshold, say 1e-4. Is there a simple way of doing this in R?
thanks

Drop/Terminate data to/from source using firewalld rich rules
I need to be able to temporarily cut off the source of network slowdowns.
What I used to do:
Router with 2 x NICs running slackware 14.
Execute iptraf-ng, choose IP Network Monitor and sort by Byte Count.
The sorted screen always seemed a bit confusing but I could usually
pluck a couple of IP addresses with racing byte counts and cut all
traffic to them using an iptables rule.
Then if I wanted to

problem-nlme
Hi,
I have great problems with my work in R.
I look for to model the growth of fish.
I have "Longitudinal data", a serie of repeated
measures for each individual.
Using the corresponding packages "nlme" in R.
I treat to fit to the data different growth functions,
wich were entered by me.
Unfortunately for no it was arrived at the
convergence, several error messages appeared.

[LLVMdev] Strange i386 cross build error.
As part of my ELLCC project (http://ellcc.org), I build clang/LLVM on my
native x86_64 Linux box and then use it to compile itself. For further
sanity checking, I then use that copy to cross compile for other targets
(arm, armeb, i386, microblaze, mips, mipsel, ppc, and x86_64). After
updating to a recent TOT revision, r195452, I get a strange error when
cross compiling for the i386:

Re: sip change? (Rich Adamson)
Hi Rich,
I had to change all my nat=yes to nat=route in the sip.conf.
nat=yes seems to be ignored in today's CVS.

setfacl: Option -m: Invalid argument near character 3
I just tried that and I got the same error. I think there is some
extended acl support that I'm missing somewhere.
It's like the setfacl command is not recognizing the AD groups as valid
groups.
I should also add the following information:
This server is built up on CentOS 6.6 Minimal using the Sernet-Samba
Enterprise packages.
It looks like the binary that is running is

still seeking way to recover card after cursor disappears or card locks up
A couple of weeks ago, I posted a question about how to recover
a card (an Asus ENGT430 card, which the box says is a GeForce GT
430, running Mageia 1 with kernel 2.6.38.8-server-10.mga) when
the cursor had disappeared or the card had locked up while exiting

command does work to change the console, just as Alt-Ctrl-F(n) for

data manipulation for plotting
Hi,
i'd like to plot some data that I have with the value on the x axis and freq
on the y axis.
So, I need to calculate the freq a value is seen within my data vector
for example, say i have a vector of data
data=c(1,1,1,4,5,5,6)
I want
values<-c(1,4,5,6)
freq<-c(3,1,2,1)
in order to enable me to plot this. Sorry, i'm new to R. What is standard
