R contains a whole set of functions to work with text strings, of which
following are definitely worth a look :
?substr
?strsplit
?grep
?gsub
...
Please provide us with an exact problem, and some sample R-code, e.g.
I want to see if a certain word occurs in a vector :
a <- c("a","b","x","c")
b <- "x"
b.in.a <- ??? (this is solved by "b %in% a" )
Cheers
Joris
