[R] Problem building packages on windows: /cygdrive/c/Rtools/bin/cp: target `xf-))' is not a directory
Dear R-Help My OS is Windows CP, I'm not sure my sessionInfo() is relevant but here it is: R version 2.10.1 (2009-12-14) i386-pc-mingw32 locale: [1] LC_COLLATE=English_United Kingdom.1252 LC_CTYPE=English_United Kingdom.1252 LC_MONETARY=English_United Kingdom.1252 [4] LC_NUMERIC=C LC_TIME=English_United Kingdom.1252 attached base packages: [1] stats graphics grDevices utils datasets methods base I installed RTools211.exe and my path is set to: c:\Program Files\HTML Help Workshop;c:\Program Files\R\R-2.10.1\bin;c:\Rtools\bin;c:\Rtools\perl\bin;c:\Rtools\MinGW\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel;C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\ I have HTML Help Workshop installed. When I execute R CMD build --binary CORNA, I get: * checking for file 'CORNA/DESCRIPTION' ... OK * preparing 'CORNA': * checking DESCRIPTION meta-information ... OK * removing junk files * checking for LF line-endings in source and make files * checking for empty or unneeded directories * building binary distribution WARNING: some HTML links may not be found * installing *binary* package 'CORNA' ... /cygdrive/c/Rtools/bin/cp: target `xf-))' is not a directory ERROR: installing binary package failed * removing 'C:/DOCUME~1/Michael/LOCALS~1/Temp/Rinst36806643/CORNA' ERROR * installation failed Any help would be appreciated Thanks Mick

OK > * preparing 'CORNA': > * checking DESCRIPTION meta-information ... Which library PATHS (e.g. in environment variable R_LIBS) are set? Do we have access to the package in order to look if it is the package or your environment which causes the problem?
