Hello there!
I'm running R 2.7.1 in a "x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu" platform.
While some
packages like "distrib" installed smoothly, I'm having problems to
install
"nlme" and "lattice". I have tried both
"install.packages()" and R CMD
INSTALL. For example,
[root at localhost Download]# R CMD INSTALL lattice_0.17-13.tar.gz
* Installing to library '/usr/lib64/R/library'
* Installing *source* package 'lattice' ...

gcc -m64 -std=gnu99 -I/usr/include/R -I/usr/local/include -fpic -O2 -g
-pipe -Wall -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-protector
--param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -m64 -mtune=generic -c init.c -o init.o

** Removing '/usr/lib64/R/library/lattice'

The installation verbose for "nlme" is quite big, so I attached it for
your
consideration
( http://www.nabble.com/file/p19222478/nlme%2BInstallation%2Bverbose
nlme+Installation+verbose ).
I would greatly appreciate some feedback from you.
Regards,
Omar
