That error message is the symptom of
o rbind() failed if the only data frame had 0 rows. (PR#9657)
so please try R-patched. If that does not work, you will need to do some
debugging (see `Writing R Extensions') on your own setup and talk to the
maintainer of the package (see the posting guide).
