R help - Dec 2006 - model comparison + use of offset in glmmPQL

Hi,
  I have 2 questions.
   
  First - is it possible to use the offset term in a glmmPQL formula rather than
transforming the variables in the dataset beforehand?
   
  Second - how do you compare the output/fit of 2 models produced through
glmmPQL if you can't use the Anova(model1, model2, test="")
method?
