On a vacation evening, I've produced quite nice Mandelbrot sets (+ coloring schemes) -- all in R -- just to see if it was fast enough without C nor special bitmap displays. I had been pleasantly surprised how fast and beatiful the results were. Feedback (to me privately) is welcome.
