Is there a method for creating "animations" using R. Or is there another piece of software (unix perferrably) that can generate a "movie" from many ps/eps/gif/jpg files? Thanks, Jeff. Jeff D. Calling "apropos gif" on my system leads to whirlgif: whirlgif (1) - reads a series of GIF87a or GIF89a files, and \ produces one single GIF89a file composed of those images. The copyright file states Whirlgif is now located at http://www.danbbs.dk/~dino/whirlgif/. The previous version was at http://www.msg.net/utility/whirlgif/. I have tried neither whirlgif nor the urls above. I also seem to recall that imagemagick had a tool for this ... There's a helpful discussion at: http://www.R-project.org/nocvs/mail/r-help/2001/1535.html I use gnuplot to animate stuff, but that's because I didn't know about all the other methods mentioned in the message(s) above. -- Shravan Vasishth Dept. of Linguistics, OSU 222 Oxley Hall, 1712 Neil Ave. Columbus, OH 43210-1298 USA URL: http://ling.ohio-state.edu/~vasishth -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
