For some reason, off-line help seems no longer to be working in R for me. I.e. if I do, e.g., > help(plot, offline=T) ***nothing*** happens. Previously, (before I re-installed R to get command-line editing working, I think) if did this, a file called ``plot.ps'' was created in the current working directory, and I could happily lpr this file. Now .... nadda. I have a ***vague*** recollection that when I was reconfiguring/ re-installing R, a message flashed past on the screen to the effect that .dvi help files would not be available, but I didn't pay much attention at the time. I have no idea why this should be the case; nothing had changed except for my installing the readline package. Any suggestions as to what I can/should do to get offline/postscript help to come back?
