R help - Aug 2001 - optimizing R for large dataset

Hi R-users,

   I am interested in knowing the System Requirement
(including RAM,ideal processor,Hard Disk and OS) for
optimizing R system for processing data set of '1 GB '

   Also how to implement such a configuration for R.
