Has anyone succeeded in compiling R-1.1.0 on a Digital (Compaq) Alpha running OSF4.0F (or E)? Everything seems to compile OK (except the frequent "Warning: Unresolved:" at link time - this threw me off the scent for a while!), but then at run time I get: Fatal error: The X11 shared library could not be loaded. The error was dlopen: cannot load /am/aqua/home/ray/S/R/osf1/R-1.1.0/bin/R_X11.so The file does exist, so I am at a loss as to what to try next: circa> ls -al /am/aqua/home/ray/S/R/osf1/R-1.1.0/bin/R_X11.so -rw-r--r-- 1 ray staff 278528 Jul 6 11:48 /am/aqua/home/ray/S/R/osf1/R-1.1.0/bin/R_X11.so circa> I have compiled with both gcc/g77 and cc/f77 with no difference. As far as I can tell, gdb does not help, since the program hasn't started running yet. Any ideas?
