Dear All, I try to be a new user of R. I try to install the R ver 0.65.0 in my UNIX machine. The installation untill one point goes fine but when I run the make comand the program can find the X11 enviroment. Could you help me with this kind of problem? I would appreciate if you have any suggestions about any other process or programms that I need to use. Many thanks for your time. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !) Now my wild guess from the above insufficient Info: If you are using Linux, you may have had an installation withOUT the package of files for developing X11 programs, often called "x11-devel". You need these for compiling R (and many other neat programs you may want to compile in the future) (and please use a "subject" for your next e-mail) -- Martin Maechler <maechler at stat.math.ethz.ch> http://stat.ethz.ch/~maechler/ Seminar fuer Statistik, ETH-Zentrum LEO D10 Leonhardstr. 27 ETH (Federal Inst.
