[R] "R-testers" has gone the way of all mortals.. // History
Till this morning, "R-testers at stat.math.ethz.ch" still was a valid alias to R-help. It is no longer... History: On 1996, Feb 12 Ross and Robert established a simple `alias mailing list' (i.e. no automatic un/subscribing; no anti-spam, no nothing) <r-alpha-testers at stat.auckland.ac.nz> of a bit more than a dozen people who ``have had expressed interest in R at some time'' and announced an R alpha 0.1 (or 0.2?). On 1996, March 20 and 21 the list was moved and announced to the "R-testers at stat.math.ethz.ch" mailing list with 19 entries. On 1997, April 1 (+/-) I established 3 mailing lists instead of 1; the low volume R-announce, R-help and R-devel {{ where all messages to R-announce are sent R-help automatically and still the majority of new subscribers doesn't understand and subscribes to BOTH R-announce and R-help..when R-help would be sufficient }} R-help was inherited from R-testers and R-testers made an alias for R-help. On 1999, May 31 (today) -- R-testers is outdated by 26 months and dies. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
