please help - complicated polymorphic association
I am trying to build a shared-appointment system, where users can subscribe to appointments and be updated whenever changes are made to them. I have three objects in this system, appointments, users, and subscribers. Subscribers are a polymorphic object like so: class Subscriber < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :subscribable, :polymorphic => true end The tricky part is that users already own appointments, so I can''t create a simple users.appointments association. I can fin...

Unexpected result from LIST EXTENDED command
I am executing this command below to dovecot-2.3.5-6.cp1178.x86_64 server Notice that some status responses are missing (For folders INBOX.Archive, INBOX.spam.&-BD0EOQQ9BDkEPQ-). I wonder If this is a bug or working as expected In rfc5819 there is this: If the server runs into unexpected problems while trying to look up the STATUS information, it MAY drop the corresponding STATUS reply. How do I set all my mailboxes to "subscribed"
Hi all, I've had a great deal of trouble accessing my Dovecot IMAP from most supposedly IMAP aware email clients, and have been advised that it might be because some of my email folders are not subscribed. Is there s way I can subscribe all my folders? I see no reason to have a folder not subscribed. Thanks, SteveT Steve Litt December 2019 featured book: Rapid Learning for the 21st

RFC 5258 violation: incomplete response for "LIST ($OPT RECURSIVEMATCH) ..."
Hi there, RFC 5258 (IMAP4 LIST command extensions) defines a ?RECURSIVEMATCH? selection option which ?forces the server to return information about parent mailboxes that don't match other selection options, but have some submailboxes that do.? (Section 3.5 makes the requirement even clearer.) However that's not what Dovecot 2.3.7 does. AFAICT no LIST response is returned for mailboxes

Problem with namespace (maybe bug?)
Hi! Could you tell me what is wrong with an "existence" of mailbox? Please see the two examples: . list "" "*" * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "Trash" * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "Junk" * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "Sent" * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "Drafts" * LIST

How to auto-subscribe to virtual namespace/prefix?
In virtual namespace I can have: namespace myvirt { location = blah prefix=Virtual/ separator=/ mailbox "My folder" { auto = subscribe } } And i see email clients successful display subscribed "My folder" but the top-level prefix "Virtual/" is not subscribed. I see the Virtual/ prefix available as a noselect folder in the list of unsubscribed

Dovecot Maildirs multi language
Hello, I'm hosting a few customers on a dovecot Server. Most users speak german and have german as their main language. I configured the IMAP Foldernames in a Dovecot configuration file like this: ##### root at srv04:~# cat /etc/dovecot/conf.d/105-mailboxes.conf imap_capability = +XLIST namespace inbox { inbox = yes location = separator = / mailbox "Entw?rfe" { auto

RESTful web service design question
I''m working on a Rails app that needs to expose a RESTful web service. I''m curious to know some of the best practices as it relates to RESTful API design. Let''s say I have a set of related objects on the server side. I''ll use the venerable subscribers, subscriptions and magazines example to lay it out. class Subscriber < AR has_many :subscriptions has_many :magazines, :through => :subscriptions end class Subscription < AR belongs_to :subscriber belongs_to :magazine end class Magazine < AR has_many :subscriptions has_ma...

Bug: subscriptions file
Sorry for top posting, my client is still broken. I have never seen the ghost of a "system-alerts" or similar "well-known" mail folder in the past 30 years. Compliance with an RFC obscure feature is compellong us all to clear subscriptions fol ders by hand. As we meet the problem over and over again, a non-RFC configuration option could solve the problem, and it would be

Auto-subscribe but not auto-create
Hi, is it, somehow, possible to auto-subscribe a folder IF it exists but NOT auto-create it if it doesn't exists? We have folder 'Spam' which we are using to store messages marked as spam but users are not subscribing to it (most of them simply don't know what it means to subscribe a folder) and are complaining about missing e-mails (which are in 'Spam' folder but
