[Nut-upsuser] [EXTERNAL] thoughts on tripp lite Smart Online UPSs?
Thanks. I haven't used that unit specifically with Network UPS Tools, but have used similar (from a protocol perspective) units. I'm working remotely for a while, but on the off chance I get into the position to connect a unit via USB, what Operating System are you using? If the opportunity arises, I can try to set up a basic test. We hope to be able to do the full suite - monitoring, shutting down, etc. I should have mentioned that we will also be using nagios for monitoring via the network port. thanks, nomad

I haven't gotten a comparable 5KVA or 6KVA UPS connected to CentOS 8 recently. Working remotely makes setting this up a little harder. Looking back, my last similar test was a smaller 400x on CentOS 7.6. Did you make a decision yet? In any event, does "I should have mentioned that we will also be using nagios for monitoring via the network port." mean you will be using the WEBCARDLX accessory (https://www.tripplite.com/web-management-accessory-card~WEBCARDLX/)? If yes, just as an FYI it will report to many of the "UPS MIB"/RFC1628 values which gives you more monitoring options and I'd think open up the possibility of using Network UPS Tools with the SNMP-UPS driver (https://networkupstools.org/docs/man/snmp-ups.html). <https://networkupstools.org/docs/man/snmp-ups.html> Side note to anyone on the list: If there is any RFC1628/Network UPS Tools/Tripp Lite UPS test that would be helpful to the community, feel free to ping me Thank you, David Zomaya Business/Quality Analyst- Software Tripp Lite ________________________________ From: Lee Damon <nomad at ee.washington.edu> Sent: Thursday, March 26, 2020 10:00 AM To: David Zomaya; nut-upsuser Mailing List Subject: Re: [EXTERNAL] [Nut-upsuser] thoughts on tripp lite Smart Online UPSs?
