Could whomever is in charge of the lartc mailing list please change it to add the header: Reply-To: lartc@mailman.ds9a.nl Every other list I''m on is setup so that by default replies will go to the list. When replying to lartc emails I notice myself and others constantly forgetting this list does not behave like the rest, and that we have to either do a reply-to-all, or manually enter in the to address. Thanks, Jody

I keep replying to people directly :) Ooops. Sorry people, making sure I hit the reply to all again. Not to mention removing the cc stuff, and just replying directly to the list. By ccing the list, and not email it directly I feel like I am having an off list conversation, that I am sending copies to the list, to keep up with the convo. -- Sincerely, William L. The list has proper list headers such as: List-Id: "Mailinglist of the Linux Advanced Routing & Traffic Control project" <lartc.mailman.ds9a.nl> List-Post: <mailto:lartc@mailman.ds9a.nl> etc... Some mailing programs offer a ''Reply to list'' function that respects these mailing list headers and thus will send a reply to the list only. Also, I do not mind getting direct replys in addition to what goes over the list, actually I even do group replies on purpose, because the list does not always work reliably. Regards Andreas Klauer

I much prefer the munging, largely agreeing with what is said in your third url. I haven''t seen any accidental posts to the list on the munging lists. Instead I constantly have people either accidentally only reply to me, or I myself accidentally not respond to the list for lartc. If so many people are doing it to me, then it stands to reason that there''s cases I''m not even seeing. It makes me wonder how many discussions on this list unintentially left the list to private emails. If the list owner does not wish for Reply-To munging I can accept that, but I''d atleast like it considered. - Jody

Many people tend not to be very responsive when not addressed directly. Another negative side-effect is that it removes other lists that might be CCed. So please don''t change this.
