Re: nazi spam in German over list address

worst e-mail client ever written, and even there it's easy. I just hit
'Reply to all', then trim out the poster's address if I don't want them to
get a direct copy.

Fix list so it adds Reply-To: header
Could whomever is in charge of the lartc mailing list please change it
to add the header:
Reply-To: lartc@mailman.ds9a.nl
Every other list I''m on is setup so that by default replies will go to
the list. When replying to lartc emails I notice myself and others
constantly forgetting this list does not behave like the rest, and
that we have to either do a reply-to-all, or manually enter in

Request to list owner
Hi list owner,
Sorry for this.
Is it possible to change the reply-to in mailman to be the list, and not the
person who replied?
Also the [Dovecot] on the subject would be handy.
Just two things to get better.
Thanks,

shall i write to the list or to the person who answered?
I'm a bit confused because the fellows who answer do this straight to my
personal address. I had to reply-to-all to get the mailinglist's
address. Is this intentional? I don't see the point. Shouldn't all
communication only go via the mailinglist? However, I'm now off the
list.

Re: [JAXLUG] Reply-to not set right.
...gical point of view. It makes total sense.
This came up not to long ago on the LARTC list. I was for it being the
old way. Till a user provided the following. After reading all (long
reads but necessarily) I reversed my stance and had to agree with list
admins decision.
First read:
http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html
Then, the rebuttal:
http://marc.merlins.org/netrants/reply-to-useful.html
Finally, the rebuttal to the rebuttal:

Suggestion for the list manager(s)
Just wondering... Would it be possible for the list software to set the
reply-to: field to compiz@lists.freedesktop.org?

Changing the Reply-To: option for the list

FWIW: I'm voting _for_ this change. So do _not change_ the Reply-To: header.
See http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html for motivation.
That webpage is over a decade old, so it lacks that good e-mail programms
have _three_ reply-buttons: "Reply", "Reply to all" and "Reply to List".
Most likely we will encounter posters who aren't aware of a "Reply...

Configure SSL problem
Hi everyone
I have been trying to get Dovecot installed with OpenSSL support, but no
matter what I do,
when I run Configure, it says "Building with SSL support.........No".
I have even tried configure --with-ssl=openssl, to no avail.
I have built and installed OpenSSL, and libssl.so and libcrypto.so are in
the /lib directory -
what more does Dovecot want? I have tried figuring it out

SPAM
Dear Samba and Linux list users -
Several people have commented on the volume of spam reaching the list. Andrew
(the list maintainer, I am but a lowly assistant) has been advised of your
comments and will take action if he thinks it's necessary.
People wishing to make further comment should do so directly to the list admins
and NOT, repeat NOT to the list itself! My thanks to those list

reply-to address of the list
Hi,
is there a chance to alter the list behaviour to not use the sender
address of a posting in the reply-to field but dovecot at dovecot.org
instead?
That way one has to either use "reply to all" in the MUA or manually
enter dovecot at dovecot.org in any replies. And a "reply to all"
duplicates postings because the posting once goes to the list and once
to the original

Ooops, forgot to hit reply-all. Didn't the LLVM lists used to default to reply-to-list behaviour?

changing unix password with samba
I am running RedHat 9 and samba. I need to be able to set one password
for each user and sync them with ssh, web, unix password.
i.e. When I change samba pass, it changes unix, ftp, etc. Is this
possible with samba? I saw that it is if you are running windows and
then you can change the unix pass via samba. Is this possible when
running linux. I just want to easily administer my users.

Meta-question about the list
Question about the list in general: by default, it''s set up so that
replies go to the sender, rather than the list. However, on other
lists I usually chat on, replies by default generally go to the list.
This seems to encourage more discussion. Would it be a good idea to
change that default? Or am I just crazy.
Best,
Raymond

Bug in shorewall
I just added 802.1Q VLAN support to redhat initscripts. And after
support was ready, I tried to restart shorewall. Well it blew into
pieces. Seems like shorewall can''t handle device names like:
eth0.3 very properly. That''s default naming of vlan devices. eth1 is
master device and 3 is id of my test vlan.
So when I added to interfaces line:
home eth0.3 detect

Add a new node to ocfs cluster
Hi everybody,
My problem is that I want to add a new node to an existing RAC with ocfs2, without stop the database.
If I add a new node to an existing ocfs cluster, do I need to stop the ocfs in the others nodes of the cluster?
I've tried to do it without stop the ocfs in the others nodes but I get the following error:
