dovecot - Jul 2004 - Some users cannot read mail: assertion failed

Hi all! 
 
I am a recent user of dovecot. First of all, the migration from UW-IMAP was
definitely
worth it. But now I've run into some troubles. Two of my users complain that
they
can't read their Inboxes, but other folders work fine. The error message I
get in the
logs look like: 
 
lynx imap(gheorghe.bancos): file buffer.c: line 357 (buffer_set_start_pos):
assertion
failed: (abs_pos <= I_MIN(buf->used, buf->limit)) 
lynx dovecot: child 1823 (imap) killed with signal 6 
 
The problems have been reported with both MS Outlook and SquirrelMail. 
 
What causes this problem and how can I fix it?

Could you get a gdb backtrace of it? See
http://dovecot.org/bugreport.html

Or can you send the mail that causes it to crash? That error alone
doesn't really help.

I have no idea which mail causes the problems, because the errors I send are the
only ones I get. Is it possible to get a separate dovecot process to run on a
different port ( I would then be able to run gdb on it ) ?

Here comes the mail - this one is really weird becase simply copying the Maildir
to a test user and reading it like that worked ... Anyway:

It was located in
/home/$USERNAME/Maildir/cur/1089379804.23861_2.lynx.aiesec.ro:2,

ce faceti bai????cum merge pregatirea de <BPM si totodata si
vacanta???...eu am ajuns cu bine dupa o lunga calatorie cu un tip care
este antrenor de tenis, si pleca la un campionat de tenis din
germania...fetelor era chiar dragut:):):)...si poate ne face ceva
antrenamente gratis;)

momentan sunt in MC cu alexis, care culmea dar a slabit si s-a cumintit(pe
bune:):):)....)...maine plecam in graz pana duminica, si cred ca ma voi
intoarce in bucuresti cu ARTUR....:), s-a facut chuiar dragut si arata
bine:):):)....so marina....;)....

deja pot sa yic ca imi e dor de voi, dar trebuie sa ma obisnuiesc cu ideea
asta:(...dar va fi bine...

va pup si sa aveti grija de voi!!!!
