It seems that glances is not in EPEL for CentOS 8. Is that coming at some point, or has it been deprecated in favor of some other tool?

Instead, packages are usually added after maintainers get a request through bugzilla. This allows the packager know that the software is needed and also to see if they have time to support another branch. I don't see the tool being deprecated in Fedora so it should be possible. As a Halloween present I have added it to my temp repo: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/smooge/not-yet-in-epel8/packages/. These packages are as is. -- Stephen J Smoogen.
