Problems with x2go
...e <https://www.nomachine.com/>. It's free and so much better than x2go it's hard to even compare the two. It is ?free? only for noncommercial use. It isn?t open source. https://www.nomachine.com/faq If you want to try something else, take a look at xpra (http://xpra.org/). It?s in EPEL8. -- Jonathan Billings <billings at negate.org>

ansible: which repo?
What would you recommend: ansible is in EPEL8 and ConfigSIG. For the latter I do not see any sources in git.centos.org. Where they come from? I wonder with which repository I should use (long term)? dnf not checking gpg signature sounds scary: https://github.com/ansible/ansible/blob/v2.9.13/changelogs/CHANGELOG-v2.9.rst#security-fixes -- L...

Glances for CentOS 8?
It seems that glances is not in EPEL for CentOS 8. Is that coming at some point, or has it been deprecated in favor of some other tool?

repoview comparable alternative
It seems that in the context of EL8 the tool RepoView that creates static HTML pages out of a yum repository is obsolet because of the missing yum python modules (EL8 comes with dnf). Further more it seems also be abandoned [*] and I do not expect to appear in EPEL8. Does someone uses a similar tool to generate browseable repo HTML pages? [*] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1675886 -- Thanks, LF

Glances for CentOS 8?
...he packager know that the software is needed and also to see if they have time to support another branch. I don't see the tool being deprecated in Fedora so it should be possible. As a Halloween present I have added it to my temp repo: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/smooge/not-yet-in-epel8/packages/. These packages are as is. -- Stephen J Smoogen.

Conky on CentOS 8
Hi I've been using conky in conjunction with gcalcli on Scientific Linux 7 to display google calendar data on screen. In CentOS 8, I have set up the gcalcli part, but I can't find a conky rpm. Is anyone working on creating this for CentOS 8? There appears to be an rpm for fedora 28 onwards, but there are dependency issues. Can anyone help? -- Cheers Bill

Are there any repos that would have perl-Curses for CentOS 8? It was always available in epel but not anymore. Thanks, Mike

Problems with x2go
I have installed x2goserver on a Centos8 server. Yesterday, after the installation I was able to connect by means of x2go. Today I get the following error ( /var/log/messages) /usr/bin/x2gostartagent[2677]: no free display number available, cannot start new session. Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks. Bye Stefano

I had to say no to one of my users who asked to install nomachine for him. We are university, i.e., not individual (aka home) users. But xpra sounds better than what I told my user to use (vncserver, vncviewer over ssh). Valeri > -- > Jonathan...

Building on RHEL 8
...so they require some special case handling for RHEL 8. OK, that's dealt with. Mock, which I use extensively, is not yet available or configured for RHEL 8, and most such compilation relies on EPEL and CentOS, neither of which support release 8 yet. The repos at https://tdawson.fedorapeople.org/epel8/ provide most of the missing bits/ A working local repository for RHEL 8 that can work with mock and do builds with takes some extra work. I publish a tool for that at https://github.com/nkadel/nkadel-rsync-scripts/blob/master/reposync-rhel-8.sh . I anticipate that the need for this will evaporate...

CENTOS8: running wine 32 bits?
All, I need to run some legacy Windows software (32 bits) under my Linux box. I have installed wine from the source the 64 bits works fine but not the 32 bits. The ./configure gives ... *checking whether gcc -m32 works... no* *configure: error: Cannot build a 32-bit program, you need to install 32-bit development libraries.* and trying to install the require i686 packages results in a [
