Glances for CentOS 8?
It seems that glances is not in EPEL for CentOS 8. Is that coming at some point, or has it been deprecated in favor of some other tool?

Reading external files with dtrace
...can read a configuration file, we can use those settings within a predicate to enable/disable specific probes. Problem is, I don''t know how to directly read a file or otherwise affect a running dtrace script on the fly. Any help, insight or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Samba and WinXP problem
...this problem, and only got one Samba-related hit, and it wasn't quite the same problem I'm experiencing. I'm about ready to wipe the machine and reformat/reinstall XP, but before going to that extreme, I figured I'd try this list. So, does anyone have any ideas? :-) Stace -- Stacy J. Script for making a KVM VM from a kickstart
I have been building up a script to quickly and easily make CentOS/RHEL and Fedora VMs from kickstart files for a long time, and thought I'd see if anyone else was interested. It's especially useful IMHO if you are working on building kickstarts, because you can fairly rapidly iterate and test. I've got it built as an RPM, so if others think this is useful, I might submit it to

Roaming Profiles question
Can 9x/ME profiles be safely kept in the same place as NT/2K/XP profiles? i.e., are they compatible, in that 9x settings can be used on an NT based machine, and vice versa, with each OS knowing which settings it can and can't use, or is it best to just keep them separated? -- Stacy J. 'dual' hosting STABLE and CURRENT ?
Currently I have a 'master' STABLE box which nfs exports src and obj to all my STABLE 'clients' and a 'master' CURRENT box nfs exporting src and obj to my CURRENT 'clients'. Would it be possible to eliminate one of the 'master' boxes ? IE, could a STABLE box build and host CURRENT (via alternate src and obj) or could CURRENT box build and host STABLE (via

Append/Prepend to a template from controller method
I want a method in app/controllers/application.rb that can prepend/append text to whatever template gets rendered. Of course I can''t call render twice w/o getting a double render error, so is this possible? I want to redirect after a delay using a meta refresh. Here''s what I''ve got: app/controllers/application_controller.rb: def redirect_after_delay (url, delay)

strange problem
Hello. I have a problem that I hope you can help me with. I have 95,98 and NT machines and a Linux box with samba 2.2.5 (or what ever is shipped with redhat) that shares a printer to the windows machines. The problem is now: -the NT machines finds the printer! -the 98 machine finds something, but rejects all passwords (it runs encryot. passwd) -the 95 does not find anything at all. (runs encrypt
