Hi all, Has anyone implemented trunk to trunk forwarding with an asterisk PBX. For the purpose I have in mind its quite important that once the call has been sent onwards to the new desination the lines into the PBX are no longer held. If anyone has UK-specific experience of getting this up and running that would be incredibly useful! Nic

With TDM you will utilizing two channels (one coming in bridged with one going out) for the entirety of the call. Thanks, Steve
Your carrier may offer a "take back and transfer" service - for a fee. That's the dtmf tones you sometimes hear during IVR sessions to large faceless companies. -----Original Message----- From: Steve Totaro [mailto:stotaro@totarotechnologies.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2006 4:31 AM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: RE: [Asterisk-Users] trunk to trunk forwarding> -----Original Message----- > From: Nic Hughes [mailto:nicolas.h@virgin.net] > Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2006 4:49 AM > To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com > Subject: [Asterisk-Users] trunk to trunk forwarding > > Hi all, > > Has anyone implemented trunk to trunk forwarding with an asterisk PBX. > For the purpose I have in mind its quite important that once the call > has been sent onwards to the new desination the lines into the PBX are > no longer held. > > If anyone has UK-specific experience of getting this up and runningthat> would be incredibly useful! > > NicThis can easily be done using VoIP but I don't think it will work using TDM (unless this is a feature that your Telco offers). I have a sinking feeling that I may need SS7 support for what I want, in which case serious negotiations with telco's loom on the horizon. Would that not be ECT (Explicit/External Call Transfer) for BRI/PRI? If your telco supports this (which many do), all you need is ECT support for your driver. I think bristuff ZAP is either able to do it now or will be soon. Regards, JP -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
