trunk to trunk forwarding
Hi all,
Has anyone implemented trunk to trunk forwarding with an asterisk PBX.
For the purpose I have in mind its quite important that once the call
has been sent onwards to the new desination the lines into the PBX are
no longer held.
If anyone has UK-specific experience of getting this up and running that
would be incredibly useful!

[PATCH] v2v: convert-windows: remove installation reference for prl_strg driver
There is an issue with removal of parallels disk paravirt driver.
Without the patch, the VM being migrated may not boot on the
desination with BSOD: 0x7b.
The patch is a workaround to prevent the BSOD.

win 2k3 / XP Pro to Samba 3.0.1 open failed, result=-512
...with all
service packs and critical updates. linux2 is a gentoo system running
kernel 2.6.1-rc2 , though I have seen these problems with 2.4.22 ,
2.4.23 , 2.6.0, and 2.6.1-rc1. linux2 runs samba 3.0.1.
I mount the share hosted on Techboy somewhere on linux2, and then I use
rsync to sync it up, the desination being linux2. After the initial
rsync. I then do three passes. Each of these passes is the exact same
rsync command, but notice each pass comes up with a different file
count. The files transferred usually consist of many files which were
deleted on the previous pass, which it now thinks do exist....

The auditd log for NETFILTER_PKT event does not contain the src port ,

Has it been removed permanently (

[RFC] [PATCH] Mode=Switch: add per-VLAN forwarding database
...ether?
Your solution basically tells tinc to not route only on the MAC address,
but on MAC+VLAN. That's indeed an elegant solution to your problem.
But what is exactly going wrong? Even though only one subnet works at a
time, packets having the MAC address of that router in the backbone as
the desination address are still being routed towards that router. Is
the problem that this is perhaps not an efficient route, or is there
some real switch along the way that doesn't like an unexpected VLAN tag?

iptables marking problems and ip route not working
Hello,
I''m trying to configure a machine to send mail traffic out on eth0 and web
traffic, via Squid, out of eth1, with the default gw on the eth0 interface.
After spending most of the day of trying this and that and reading docs until
my eye hurts, I have had zero luck making anything work expect for standard
routing.
The Advance Routing Howto makes it seams easy to do this, but I fear

Announce: OpenSSH 9.3 released
...========
This release contains fixes for a security problem and a memory
safety problem. The memory safety problem is not believed to be
exploitable, but we report most network-reachable memory faults as
security bugs.
* ssh-add(1): when adding smartcard keys to ssh-agent(1) with the
per-hop desination constraints (ssh-add -h ...) added in OpenSSH
8.9, a logic error prevented the constraints from being
communicated to the agent. This resulted in the keys being added
without constraints. The common cases of non-smartcard keys and
keys without destination constraints are unaffected. Thi...

rsync-3.0.2 -- two build problems
Hi,
when I tried to build rsync-3.0.2 on i686-linux/gnu, I noticed 2 problems:
====================
(1) With the Linux kernel >=2.6.20, "make check" occasionally fails, due to
subsecond timestamps sometimes being truncated and sometimes being rounded
upwards (both on i686 and x86_64).
Attached are two files demonstrating the problem: rsync-3.0.2-check-out with

[RFC] [PATCH] Mode=Switch: add per-VLAN forwarding database
Hi,
I'm inter-connecting AccessPoints using a tinc mesh and have bridge-nodes to bridge this vpn into some existing backbone.
The AccessPoints bridge their users into 802.1q VLANs (per WiFi-Client, there can be multiple VLANs active on each AP) in the tinc mesh, and the bridge nodes bridge some vlans into the backbone.
Now there is a router in the backbone that uses the same MAC on all VLANs,

How to copy a system?
Is there a standard way of copying a working system
from one machine to another with different partitions?
I have two CentOS-5.6 machines, say A and B,
and I thought I would copy / on sdb10 on machine A
to an unused partition sda7 on machine B with rsync.
I made the appropriate changes to /etc/fstab and grub.conf ,
as well as /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts ,
but found that there were innumerable

how to work with a designer
I am considering trying Rails out on a small web project where I will be
working with a designer. What is the typical workflow and relationship
for this:
1 have the designer learn rhtml
or
2 have the programmer take html mock ups and turn them into rhtml
In the past I have used Django (also very nice), which has a fairly
accessible (ala php) templating language.
Thanks,
David S.

[PATCH 0/9] tools: remove or disable old/useless/unused/unmainted stuff
depends on "autoconf: regenerate configure scripts with 4.4 version"
This series removes some of the really old deadwood from the tools build
and makes some other things which are on their way out configurable at
build time with a default depending on how far down the slope I judge
them to be.
