I'm pretty sure the Error 500 can be ignored. If memory serves, I think it
is related to a transmitter "underrun" error on the T100P framer chip.
This
would occur if the processor doesn't quite keep up with the transmit data
stream on the T1 - ie: is load related.
These occur on all of my systems- I've found that they are generally, but
not always, acommpanied by frame transmission retries (errors appear in
/var/log/asterisk/messages)
I think error 500's can safely be ignored, unless they occur in large
quantities, in which case I've found them to be definitely related to
dropped calls.
Not sure about the event 8's, perhaps they are load related too.
Cheers

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Mystery PRI NOTICEs & WARNINGs
Since connecting a PRI to a Digium T100P, I have been seeing the following
messages in syslog every few minutes:
Jun 4 06:51:54 pbx asterisk[13435]: WARNING[1209214400]: chan_zap.c:6176 in
zt_pri_error: PRI: Read on 56 failed: Unknown error 500 Jun 4 06:51:54 pbx
asterisk[13435]: NOTICE[1209214400]: chan_zap.c:6913 in pri_dchannel: PRI
got event: 8 on span 1
Sometimes, these messages come out as often as six minutes apart, and
sometimes as infrequently as every hour. I haven't noticed any PRI-related
problems coincidental with the messages. I am experiencing a large number of
dropped calls, but the dropped calls occur both on PRI and non-PRI calls.
Has anyone observed these messages, and if so, do you know what they mean
and are they something to be concerned about?
Thanks in advance.
