I have an installation which is currenly using 14 DID Trunk Lines. I need to be able to use Caller ID information and currently it is not available on these lines. Is there another way to access this information? Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... While I am sure it is possible to order CallerID on a DID trunk, it sometimes is dependent on software revisions in the CO as to whether or not they can support it. We had this problem once. PRI will get you both called number(DID) but also the calling number all sent in the D channel so you should have nice fast answers if you choose. -- Steven Critchfield <critch@basesys.com>
Michael, We also have the same DID trunk lines and was told by Telco, on this line we can't get callerID facility. I don't know is there some way to do it. I would like to ask you a question, what hardware are you use to terminate all 14 DID trunk line, into asterisk. I am facing little problem with this line and my Telco is not able to resolve the problem. Weather the problem is my side or there end don't know yet. I agree w/ Michael...if you've got 14 one-way Trunk Lines, you should be able to get a PRI for the same cost they are paying for the 14 Trunk lines, and then you will get 23 in/out lines and DID and all the other bells and whistles for those lines. It will also save you the cost of a Channelbank since you'll be able to plug it directly into your * box. 8-) Tim Thompson Commercial Sales Engineer http://www.amatechtel.com (806) 722-2227 -----Original Message----- From: Jared Smith [mailto:jsmith@drgutah.com] Sent: Monday, January 05, 2004 10:36 AM To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] DID Trunk Lines and Caller ID On Mon, 2004-01-05 at 09:04, Steven Critchfield wrote:> On Mon, 2004-01-05 at 09:28, Michael@matraex.com wrote: > > I have an installation which is currenly using 14 DID Trunk Lines.I> > need to be able to use Caller ID information and currently it is not > > available on these lines. > > Is there another way to access this information? > > Convert to PRI. > > While I am sure it is possible to order CallerID on a DID trunk, it > sometimes is dependent on software revisions in the CO as to whetheror> not they can support it. I currently get something like *16665551212*17775551213*. It's not as slick as PRI, but it's often a lot less expensive.
