[Asterisk-Users] Configuration for ATA186 behind a NAT?
I wonder if someone out there could loan me a peek at their sip.conf? I have conflicting advice, for instance, about whether or not to use "nat=1" and also whether or not the ATA should be registering with the instance of asterisk it is going to be using to dial out. Thanks in advance. B.

[Asterisk-Users] Configuration for ATA186 behind a NAT?
Brian, The ATA 186 doesn't have to register with * - I have mine set up with fixed addresses and just use sections like this for each interface: [cisco] type=friend username=cisco insecure=yes secret=!x!x! host=ata186.myhome.net callerid="Iain" <10> canreinvite=no You don't need the nat option unless your * box is behind a separate firewall. http://www.loligo.com/asterisk/ There are some examples of ATA-186 entries in there. Make sure that your NAT'ed ATA-186 has ConnectMode: 0x00460400 so that it knows how to handle the "Via:" headers Asterisk will hand back to it if you have nat=1 JT>I wonder if someone out there could loan me a peek at their sip.conf? > >I have conflicting advice, for instance, about whether or not to use >"nat=1" and also whether or not the ATA should be registering with >the instance of asterisk it is going to be using to dial out. > >Thanks in advance. > >B. > >_______________________________________________ >Asterisk-Users mailing list >Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com >http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
