Asterisk behind NAT, Polycom behind NAT (SIP), how to work?
Hi All; I succeeded to have a success call from Polycom behind NAT while Asterisk has public IP address, but I was not able to have a succeed call (it was established, but no voice running, and then the call disconnected) if Asterisk behind NAT and Polycom behind NAT. When Asterisk behind NAT and Polycom behind NAT, I forwarded the 5060 UDP to asterisk (at as...

X-lIte behind NAT and Asterisk behind NAT
Hi, I have the following scenario. I have an Asterisk server running on an internal IP address behind a firewall, and I have a remote user trying to connect to my Asterisk box behind his firewall, but he can't seem to get a connection. I have opened up the port (5060) so that he can connect through my firewall, but it still doesn't appear to want to connect. I am pretty sure that the fir...

Polycom autoprovision behind a NAT
I am having an issue with doing FTP auto provisioning of Polycom 501's when they are behind a NAT. If I put the phone on the same subnet as the provision server it loads the configs and changes fine but as soon as I put in behind a NAT it comes up with cannot contact boot server. I have tried behind and replicated this behind a PIX 501, a Linksys SOHO router and a Motorolla SOHO router....

Multiple IAX clients behind a firewall
Hi all, I've searched the wiki, and my basic assumption at this point is to run multiple IAX clients behind NAT I need to specifically code each client to use a different port and then setup that port to be forwarded from the NAT router to their private IP address. At the moment, I can't seem to get more than one IAX client registered behind NAT... am I correct in my above assumption or have...

Polycom behind NAT won't register to * server behind ALG
I?ve been tearing my hair out trying to get a Polycom phone (behind a NAT) to register to an * box behind a Cisco SIP ALG. With known good credentials configured on the phone and in *, I get 403 Bad Auth when trying to register. If I put the phone onto the same LAN as * it works fine without changing any authentication parameters whatsoever. If I make the secret...

Sipura 2000 behind NAT issue, Vonage is working
Hi, I'm trying to configure Sipura 2000 (behind NAT) which connects to Asterisk (public IP, no NAT) and having interesting results. When Sipura is behind Linux/NAT firewall it works great and no special NAT settings on Sipura are necessary. The issue I'm having is when Sipura is behind Linksys broadband NAT router. Sipura gets registered...

OK to have Asterisk and clients behind firewalls?
Hi To investigate the UNREACHABLE issue I'm having, I need to have confirmation that it's OK for the Asterisk server to be behind a NAT router, and also have clients elsewhere on the Net behind their own NAT router? I know that clients must use STUN to resolve their public IP and punch UDP holes in their firewall, but is there something special that must be done in the configuration of Asterisk so it knows it's living...

Asterisk Behind Firewall
I was wondering if anyone can give me any pointers or insights of whether or not to have an asterisk server behind a firewall. I have always ran Asterisk on a public IP but was wondering if I should move it to a local IP behind a firewall. I am looking to set up a location with 300 SIP phones. Normally, I would put the Asterisk server on one public IP and let the SIP phones get DHCP from a router on a differ...

Don't get asterisk to run behind NAT router
Hi people! I am not getting smart getting asterisk 1.6 behind a NAT to run. 1. I enabled IP forwarding on debian linux 2. told asterisk in "general" that he is behind NAT and mentioned him his external static IP Adress as well his domain in the outside world. If a client who is connected with a DSL modem calls me, a grandstream module in the LAN b...

Multiple SIP phones behind a Linksys firewall
And the firewall is in between the phones and both servers or are you registering the phones on a local server and trunking to the other server through the firewall? In terms of nat and Cisco 7960s I've never had a issue registering two of them behind nat to a server on the other side, however, if you called one phone from the other, you'd end up with one way audio. -----Original Message----- From: Greg Oliver <greg.oliver at cistera.com> Sent: Saturday, February 02, 2008 2:15 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Dis...

Automatic configuration of direct routes behind NAT
...blogs.operationaldynamics.com/andrew/software/research/using-tinc-vpn and have a working tinc VPN. Here's my topology: - CentralNode has a fixed public IP address that everyone connects to - Leaf1 and Leaf2 may have different IP addresses depending on where they are, and usually those will be behind NAT (think, two laptops going around and you get the idea). I setup Leaf1 and Leaf2 to connect to CentralNode and they both do and everyone can talk to everyone. However, when both Leaf's are behind the same NAT it would be nice if they were able to figure that out and not have to go through...
