[R] configure fails on new Redhat Enterprise System
Hello all, I have a new Redhat enterprise system that I'm trying to get set up with all the goodies I need, including R-2.6.1. I got all of the required dependencies including readline. However, configure dies with: configure: error: --with-readline=yes (default) and headers/libs are not available Here are all the lines of output relating to readline: checking readline/history.h usability... yes checking readline/history.h presence... yes checking for readline/history.h... yes checking readline/readline.h usability... yes checking readline/readline.h presence... yes checking for readline/readline.h... yes checking for rl_callback_read_char in -lreadline... no checking for rl_callback_read_char in -lreadline... no configure: error: --with-readline=yes (default) and headers/libs are not available When I tried './configure --with-readline=no' it got through this trouble spot just fine, but then died on: --with-x=yes and X11 header/libs are not available I know I have readline and X11. I believe all my search paths are correct. (yum doesn't seem to have R. apt probably does, but I think you have to choose one or the other and I've been using yum.) Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Katherine Gowan :-) Unix/Linux guy for Human Medical Genetics Research @ University of Colorado [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
