JSS has been trying to develop a "Code Snippet" section (Hornik and Koenker, editors), but so far there have not been many submissions, possibly because this is not widely known. if you have some code that is not a full-blown package (just one or two functions) and you think it will be of general use, think about submitting. There is an excellent example in Volume 11 by Duncan Murdoch, and we have just accepted another one for the next volume. See Murdoch's example at http://www.jstatsoft.org/index.php?vol=11&t=c As you know, JSS is aiming for a 3 months turnaround, and especially these snippets can be put together and reviewed rather quickly. And why let good code go to waste. ==Jan de Leeuw; Distinguished Professor and Chair, UCLA Department of Statistics; Editor: Journal of Multivariate Analysis, Journal of Statistical Software US mail: 8125 Math Sciences Bldg, Box 951554, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1554 phone (310)-825-9550; fax (310)-206-5658; email: deleeuw at stat.ucla.edu .mac: jdeleeuw ++++++ aim: deleeuwjan ++++++ skype: j_deleeuw homepages: http://gifi.stat.ucla.edu ++++++ http://www.cuddyvalley.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------- No matter where you go, there you are. --- Buckaroo Banzai http://gifi.stat.ucla.edu/sounds/nomatter.au
