zfs discuss - Dec 2009 - what happens to the deduptable (DDT) when you set dedup=off ???

I tried the deduplication feature but the performance of my fileserver
dived from writing 50MB/s via CIFS to 4MB/s.

what happens to the deduped blocks when you set dedup=off?
are they written back to disk?
is the deduptable deleted or is it still there?

Turning dedup off will only affect new writes. If you want to 
de-deduplicate old files you will have to re-write them after you 
disable dedup.

will i be able to see which files were "affected" by dedup or can i do
a
zfs send/recieve to another filesystem to clean it up?

send|recv will be enough.
