Dovecot copy with imapsync
Hi List,
I am trying to migrate my dovecot 0.9 (mbox-Storage) to 1.0rc2 with
maildir-storage using imapsync.
I cannot manage to copy the emails from one server to the other,
however the dry-run from imapsync works nicely. Is it possible to make
dovecot more verbose to see what is happening (or not happening)?
Thank you very much.
Best

before before and after after
...e are currently a number of ways to extend RSpec that are
documented inconsistently and work in sometimes conflicting and/or
confusing ways. I''d like to resolve that. The recent addition of
Spec::Runner.configure is part of that resolution.
The thing I want to tackle now is the stuff that happens before and
after each example. Currently (in trunk), things are executed in the
following order:
describe Thing do
before(:all) do
#happens first, but only once within this "describe" block
end
before(:each) do
#happens before each example within this "describe"...

xenconsoled needs restart after long dom0 uptime otherwise domU console output hangs and domU doesn''t come up
Hello list!
I''ve noticed this problem a couple of times now.. so I''m wondering if it''s a
known bug?
Symptoms:
After "long" dom0 uptime (174 days when it happened now, was something
similar on previous times too) cannot start new pv domUs anymore..
pygrub runs and boots the kernel, but kernel newer gets to actually running initrd
and the console output hangs/stalls..
"xm console" output might look like this:

What happened with 5.1-RELEASE?
There used to be messages on this list around the time
of a new release, letting people know what was happening,
but that isn't happening this time. What list should the
following question be directed to, if not this one?
My auto-download program snagged a copy of the 5.1-RELEASE
install ISO yesterday morning, but no release announcement
was made. The directories exist on most, if not all of the

My linux keeps logging me off when I run Firefox (how to debug)?
This is a strange one to me.
Just recently, my Centos 6 has been "gentle crashing" where it doesn't crash,
per se, but the screen goes black, and the login prompt pops up.
It only happens when I run Firefox and it only started happening this morning.
However, it has happened a dozen times, and always when Firefox is running.
It does NOT happen when Firefox is not running.
I haven't tested with Chrome yet; so that's my next test - but - the
question I have is:
How do I l...

Polycom IP 501 phone randomly resets itself (loses Received call log, Missed calls, placed calls)
I've been noticing that my group of Polycom IP 501 phones seems to
randomly reset themselves nearly every night (I guess it usually
happens at night, since I've never seen it happen while I've been at
work during the day)..
When I say "reset", I mean, the hands free volume and ring volume are
set to the default and the call logs (received calls, missed calls,
placed calls) are all reset. It does, however, keep cert...

Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
Hi, All
Recently, one of my tinc client always suffer connection drop, I was suspect the connection was not stable to cause this issue, and BTW, I’ve set the PingTimeout to 10 seconds already, but this situation still happens a lot sometimes, but when the connection drop happens, the connection recovery pretty fast, normally in a minutes.
In order to deep dive into the cause, or proven the network quality problem, I capture the tcpdump from client to server to see what’s going on.
Client side configure:

[LLVMdev] Unnecessary i16 -> i32 type promotion
If I have an '&' operator inside an 'if' statement, LLVM seems to always
promote a 16 bit integer type to a 32 bit integer type. I don't want this
to happen because my back-end only supports 16 bit types. Why is this
happening? Where might this be happening, so I can fix it? It doesn't seem
to happen with the '|' operator, only '&'. Thanks!
Code is below. Relevant code highlighted in *bold*.

USB detach/attach hangs with 7.0-RELEASE and 7.1-PRERELEASE
Hi,
I've noticed some general instability with plugging in or removing USB
devices with FreeBSD 7.x, even when the devices are not actively in use.
I had this happen with umass and ucom devices 3 times today. The machine
hangs solid, there are no obvious signs of a panic or trap to DDB. I
can't provide backtraces unfortunately -- these hangs happen on both my
laptop and desktop, and I usually have X running -- if I had more
specific information, I'd...

Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
And, I ran a constant ping from the tinc client’s IP to the tinc server’s IP, it shows, the pings are all successfully back and forth, no any packet loss during the connection drop happens, so will this help to exclude any NAT/firewall cause the connection drop?
And as you saw from the earlier screen shot, when it happens, it drop all tinc connections, and those connections are for different direction of tinc servesr, and the packet capture is just show one of the connections.

If I remember correctly these did not happen with Linus' rc2 but only
do happen with drm-nouveau-next on top of it.
I will check and bisect though probably will not get time to complete
bisect before late Saturday.
A display glitch during kernel boot with fbcon might be related to this.

This is regular Linux CentOS 4.2 with SAN storage (boot from SAN) as

BUT it is VERY interesting that than happens only to two users which are
connected to the server via slow links (reading via Thunderbird or
Squirrelmail). It never happened (now for weeks) to other 10 users which
use it localy or at home (on speedy links).
It's very hard for me to exactly pinpoint the problem, since it never

Logon Script Sometimes Does Not Execute
Hi,
I've been searching through the list archives on marc.theaimsgroup.com, and
haven't found many suggestions relating to this problem. What's happening,
is that maybe 5 out of 100 network logons the logon script does not
execute, and none of my drives are mapped. This happens on both NT 4.0
Workstations as well as Windows 2000. It's been happening as long as I can
remember (since several years ago when I started using Samba) and I've

Well, I mean that would be a valid point if it happened for every
install. The issue did not happen on every install. There is no way to
test every single hardware and firmware combination for every single
computer ever built :)
It would be great if things like this did not happen, but with the
universe of possible combinations, i am surprised it d...

Histogram messed up
Hey all,
I encountered a problem drawing a histogram.
You can view the picture here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4836866/Bad_Histogramm.png
What happens:
the bars are drawn with different starting points, thus no straight zero-line is there.
And bars are overlapping. (or sometimes apart from each other.)
How it happens:
hist(volcano, breaks=10) # and any other data
This also happens with barplot(rnorm(10,10,1), space=0).
