Hello everyone! Well i want to know, if there is a way to specify a physical nic (like eth0 or eth1) to a domU and how can i do it. The server has two nics, what i want to do is assign physical nic (eth0) to the dom0 and assign physical nic (eht1) to the domU. I appreciate your help. Hello Igor. I''m using HVM for my domU, and i don''t mind to use linux bridge to connect my domU to eth1, so if you could tell me how to do it would be really helpful. Thanks for your help. So, I think that it''s better not to passthrouth PCI-device, but to use linux bridge instead of it. To do this, you should: 1) In dom0: /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge start bridge=eth1bridged netdev=eth1 2) In config of your HVM domain: vif = [ ''type=ioemu, bridge=eth1bridged'' ] That''s all.> > Thanks for your help. > Regards > Ivan > > --- Igor Chubin <igor@chub.in> wrote: > > > On Mi, Mär 26, 2008 at 11:56:12 -0700, Ivan Gonzalez > > wrote: > > > Hello Brian! > > > > > > Thanks for the quick answer. > > > > > > Yes i have two separate cards, do you mind telling > > me > > > how can i assign the PCI device to the domU? > > > > > > Do you use a PV or an HVM guest domain? > > Do you want to make PCI passthrough or you > > don''t mind to use linux bridge to connect > > domU to eth1 in the domain 0? > > > > > > > > Again thanks for your help. > > > Regards > > > Ivan > > > > > > --- Brian Stempin <brian.stempin@gmail.com> wrote: > > > > > > > Hi Ivan, > > > > > > > > If the NICs are on 2 separate cards or have 2 > > > > separate PCI addresses, you > > > > can assign the PCI device directly to the DomU. > > > > > > > > On Tue, Mar 25, 2008 at 6:55 PM, Ivan Gonzalez > > > > <smaug_valley@yahoo.com> > > > > wrote: > > > > > > > > > Hello everyone! > > > > > > > > > > Well i want to know, if there is a way to > > specify > > > > a > > > > > physical nic (like eth0 or eth1) to a > > > > > domU and how can i do it. > > > > > > > > > > The server has two nics, what i want to do is > > > > assign > > > > > physical nic (eth0) to the dom0 and assign > > > > physical > > > > > nic (eht1) to the domU. > > > > > > > > > > I appreciate your help. > > > > > Regards > > > > > Ivan > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ____________________________________________________________________________________ > > > > > Be a better friend, newshound, and > > > > > know-it-all with Yahoo!
