[Xen-users] Dell Latitude 820 - Xen Fullvirtualization Support ?
Hi, does anybody has experience how to activate the HVM support on the Latitude D820. I am not able to run vm-install (SLES10-SP1) to use full virtualization. Error message: The processor(s) in this machine do not support full virtualization. I called Dell support today and I updated my Bios to A07 afterwards - but still it seem there is no option to activate HVM. Dell support had also no idea, what I am talking about. http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/HVM_Compatible_Notebooks Regards, Axel _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Axel, It''s not the laptop that has to support is but also the particular processor. What processor do you have? ________________________________ From: xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com on behalf of Axel Schmidt Sent: Mon 8/13/2007 6:12 AM To: Xen-users@lists.xensource.com Subject: [Xen-users] Dell Latitude 820 - Xen Fullvirtualization Support ? I think in BIOS you shoud check to processor options, where u will get Virtulization Technology. Just enable it. So first go to BIOS BIOS - > processor options - > Virtulization Technology. As it is there in HP servers. Thanks, Trilok On 8/13/07, Axel Schmidt <Axel.Schmidt@novell.com> wrote:> > Hi, > > does anybody has experience how to activate the HVM support on the > Latitude D820.
