Hello everyone: I have run Windows XP with XEN successfully. And I want to boot a native Windows XP(be installed normally) with XEN, or boot the XenWindows with general way(select from grub when computer starting). In other words, i want the Windows XP could be booted from two ways(general and xen). But I failed all the way. Could someone give me some advice ? --------------------------------- Mp3疯狂搜-新歌热歌高速下 --0-664220067-1176085968=:53890 Content-Type: text/html; charset=gb2312 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Hello everyone:<br><br>I have run Windows XP with XEN successfully.<br><br>And I want to boot a native Windows XP(be installed normally) with XEN, or boot the XenWindows with general way(select from grub when computer starting).<br><br>In other words, i want the Windows XP could be booted from two ways(general and xen).<br><br><br>But I failed all the way. Could someone give me some advice ?Exactly the same I would do and I did. See here: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2007-02/msg00822.html I find the XP guest response quite slow on my machine (AM2 X2 3800+, 2 GB RAM), it''s far from real time response, and slower than using VNC on a regular XP host. Anyone having near real time response? Bye -- Z24 _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Could someone give me some advice ?Ooof. This is one of the hardest things to do, in general. The characteristics of your hardware are seen as *very* different between the Xen environment and the local hardware environment. But how did it fail? Which one worked successfully? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Anyone having near real time response?I also use that hardwareconfig (AM2 X2 3800+, 2GB ram) for running wixp in the two modes. Debian unstable from middle of March, apart from having to install windows xp as ''standart pc'' so that the xen hvm-machine behaves as it should, it works in both modes reasonably well. If one can live with having the installation not cleanly rebooting when started under xen it could even be installed with acpi. Some details collected at https://wiki.fluxcoil.net/doku.php/xen .
