[Xen-users] Xen on Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si controller
Hello, I am having issues making my box boot with Xen. I am working with linux-2.6.16.28-xen on a gentoo box. The server is Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si, FW 521X. When dom0 reaches the point of scanning the SCSI controllers, it hangs in a loop aic7xxx_dev_reset_returns 0x2002. My regular (non-xen) kernels come up fine with detecting my adaptec scsi controller. Had anyone had the same issue? Thanks! -igor ---------------------- I.M., M.Eng. ---------------------- _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

The driver for the raid controller is megaraid_mbox. If your OS is on the raid drive, then it''s better to compile it into kernel. It is compiled in the kernel. However the kernel refuses to boot. When I run the generic non-xen kernel, I see my drives as following: Does anyone know why the drives come up as Adaptec, and not megaraid? The drives are in hardware raid configuration.
