[Samba] help with default setting from samba4 to RATS user mananager
Hai, ? ( Debian / sernet-samba 4.1.6 ) ? Im working on the member server join now, and almost finished. ? But when i create a new user in the AD and when i go to the unix tab.? ( using the windows RATS tools ) There i want samba to adapt the settings i want, like: ? ??????? template shell = /bin/bash ??????? template homedir = /home/samba/DOMAINNAME/USERNAME ? but?when lways the from the account manager in windows these back. ? /bin/sh /home/username ? sure i can manualy correct this, but i would be nice if it's isnt needed. ? I tried it with these settings in al my servers, but didnt help. how/where can i set my usersettings so the windows usermanager adapts these when i want set the new user settings. ? And last question, from the usermanager, there is no option to create an OU in AD ? or im i missing something? ? ? Thanks in advance. ? Louis ?

I don't know if it works with the Unix extensions - but I tend to create a "template" user in the Windows Admin tool and then "copy" that user when creating a new user. This will copy all the relevant details from the copied "template" user for the new user. [Right click on the "template" user - and copy. (I don't think that's the exact text, but I don't recall exactly what the menu says...)] This includes things like the default group etc. So, I expect it will work properly for the Unix extended attribs too. [In any case, it's simply two minutes to try.] -Greg
