I finally got apache2 +FastCGI working, with Virtual Hosts, but now nothing is getting written to development.log httpd.conf: <snip> NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName freemis DocumentRoot /[PATH..]/freemis/public/ ErrorLog /[PATH..]/freemis/log/apache.log <Directory /[PATH..]/freemis/public/> Options ExecCGI FollowSymLinks AllowOverride all Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost> <snip> /etc/hosts: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost freemis http://freemis takes me to my rails app, everything works beautifully, but nothing is getting written to development.log. I haven''t made any changes within the app to explain this. It can''t be a problem with directory permissions, since apache.log is getting written to in the same directory. I''ve searched the entire box, in case it''s getting written somewhere unexpected, but it''s not. I expect I''m going to kick myself when someone points out what''s wrong :) Any ideas? -- Robert Jones

Can you post all the logging settings in your httpd.conf. Or try looking at those places, they might have the information.

If you''re using a log rotation script, the perms might be reset when the log rotation occurs. Not sure why :)Did something not change in Rails? My log directory used to be owned by my user account (michael:users, 775) and everything logged fine, then a couple of weeks ago logging stopped; I had to change the owner to apache:apache to get it to work again.
