In 1.6.0's R-admin manual is a set of flags which do work.
I don't think you are setting CC correctly, and am surprised this got
though configuration (it didn't for me).
If you look in config.site or the manual you will see it is
MAIN_LDFLAGS and SHLIB_LDFLAGS you needed to set; you seem to
misunderstand the role of LDFLAGS.
There may be a bug, but it's not in R.
