[Samba] "remove from freelist" errors in syslog and msdfs strangeness
Does anyone know what the below means in the log file? Occurs most every time a user logs on: lib/util_tdb.c:tdb_log(662) tdb(/var/state/samba/msdfs/gencache.tdb): remove_from_freelist: not on list at off=4520 (<-) this number always the same _ _ We also have a strangeness with our msdfs shares. Users are reporting seeing nested folders ie: their home directory inside their home directory. The files do not look this way on the linux server (RHEL4) but on the Windows XP clients they appear nested (user/user/files). They change and even appear/disappear as users are logged in. What might cause that? I'm suspecting some sort of DFS issues, timing sync issues (PDC) - but not sure. We're running Samba 3.025b Both of these occurred after an upgrade from what I believe was 3.022 G
