samba - Feb 2008 - smbpasswd error: rejected the tconX on the IPC$ share

Can anyone help on this matter in changing samba password:

 

[d8tsjb0@as87500580 ~]$ smbpasswd

Old SMB password:

New SMB password:

Retype new SMB password:

read_socket_with_timeout: timeout read. read error = Connection reset by
peer.

Receiving SMB: Server stopped responding

machine 127.0.0.1 rejected the tconX on the IPC$ share. Error was : Read
error:

Connection reset by peer.

Failed to change password for d8tsjb0
