Can't connect Windows 7 client to Samba 3.3.12 on AIX
This samba is scheduled for upgrade. We've been testing samba 4.3.8 packages (from BULLFreeware) on other AIX. It was not easy the install, even with RPM packages. I hope to do the upgrade soon, but I need to have this particular user working now. What puzzles me is that I have other windows 7 PCs happily working on the same resource. 2017-01-04 16:21 GMT-03:00 Rowland Penny via samba

Reconfiguring wide frame to long frame
Greetings, fellow R'ers. How can I get this frame in R: ID meas ID.1 meas.1 1 1.1 3 1.2 2 2.1 4 2.2 to look like this (stacking): ID meas 1 1.1 2 2.1 3 1.2 4 2.2 It's not really the reshape function (or is it?) because we can consider the additional columns, viz., ID.1 and meas.1, as independent of ID and meas so it is basically a stacking

%o passwd chat parameter - Samba-3.0.0beta3 - bug?
The %o passwd chat parameter (current password) doesn't seem to be working in this release. I'm running a Redhat 9 system that seems to require it. Changing the %o to the current password allows everything to work so I'm pretty sure it is something related to that parameter. Is this a bug or am I just reading the log wrong? from smb.conf: unix password sync = Yes passwd program

Users not able to change password
Hi list, My brand new samba network is working pretty good, ironing out some glitches. Win XP users cannot change their password. I use SaMBa as a domain-controller with an LDAP backend. A stripped down version of the config is below. I set minimum password length to 8, trying to change the password to a 7 char long gives me the messages that the password does not meet requirements. So that

looping using combinatorics
I have a problem where I need to loop over the total combinations of vectors (combined once chosen via combinatorics). Here is a simplification of the problem: STEP 1: Define three vectors a, b, c. STEP 2: Combine all possible pairwise vectors (i.e., 3 choose 2 = 3 possible pairs of vectors: ab,ac, bc) NOTE: the actual problem has 8 choose 4, 8 choose 5 and 8 choose 6 combinations. STEP
