TIA Kent -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba ----------------- You can select what *directories* not to back up via NT4 policies. Get poledit.exe from an NT server and make a policy that states not to back up whichever directories you want.. I suggest at the bare minimum Temp and Temporary Internet Files. In your case you may want to say My Documents\Big Files or something similar. Cheers, Toby
Toby, Suggest you refer to the Samba-HOWTO-Collection available from: http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.pdf There is a chapter on Policy Management and one on Profile Management that may help you. What you need to configure is called "Folder Redirection" A detailed and fully worked example will be in my new book "Samba-3 by Example" Cheers, John T. Kent, For Windows XP, run gpedit.msc, and look in: .User configuration ..Administrative Templates ...System ....User Profiles You can configure the item "Exclude directories in roaming profile" there. Hope that's useful, Dave Willis, UK
