[Samba] Problems with XP connecting to Linux SAMBA
Dear Experts, For four days now I'm trying to solve the following problem and I would be very happy, if someone had an idea, what to do. Under SuSE 9.0 I installed a SAMBA-Server to which two Windows-XP Clients are connecting - up to now everything worked fine. Last week I connected another Windows-XP-Client, but with this client no user can connect to a share. Though it's possible to list the shares, it's not possible to connect to them. Everytime it appears the XP-Error- Message, that the share is no longer available. On the other XP-Clients there is no Problem to connect to the shares. In the smb.conf the whole subnet is allowed to connect to the SAMBA-Server. Also there are no Firewalls or other filters. In the samba-log the connection to the share is listed with no error. But the directory is not listed on the new XP-Client (with the old clients, there is no problem to list the diretory) and after approx. 160 Seconds the error-message on the XP-Client appears and in the Samba-log a time-out appears. So IMHO the error is not on the Server-Side but rather on the client-side of the new XP-Machine. As I have absolute no idea, where to look for errors on the XP-Machine, I would be very happy, if someone had an idea, what to do. Many thanks, Michael
